Born in 1966, Commissioned Artist / Sculptor Derek Kinzett spent the majority of his childhood within the grounds of picturesque Dodington Park in Gloucestershire developing his inspiration from breathtaking countryside and wildlife.
In 1977 Derek moved with his family to Wiltshire and in 1984 completed a BTEC Diploma in Art & Design. Initially Derek focused on work in wax and then progressed to soft galvanized metals.
Derek’s passion for sculpture has continued to the present day and in 2004 he launched his collection of life sized wire sculptures 'The Inner Spirit Collection' at the National Gardening Show in Somerset.
The Inner Spirit collection of sculptures continues to this day merging with his most recent project entitled Woodland Spirit.
In 2007 Derek was commissioned by Tim Green of the Tate Gallery, the commissioned piece then went on to be exhibited at a private event organised by Tim Green, showcasing Derek's work to private collectors.
Derek has been showcased in Evolver arts magazine and reached the front page of many publications covering Somerset, Wiltshire & Dorset.
After the success of Bath & Newstead Abbey in 2009, Derek has signed contracts with The Grey Chapel Art Gallery to exhibit the "Love And Femininity" collection through 2010.
The First piece entitled "Lady And The Bicycle" is now available to view within the gallery.
