Ann Hogben Sculpture

Ann Hogben studied Art and Sculpture at Homerton College, Cambridge and has been involved in painting and sculpture for many years in various media. She has latterly concentrated on working with clay.

Ann is particularly interested in making figurative sculptures, especially children, and enjoys capturing the individual character of each subject.

After completion, each piece of work (except the terracotta gardener) is fired and cast in bronze resin which is suitable for displaying outside or inside. The sculptures are then patinated in a brown bronze finish.

Anne Hogben was invited to create a sculpture to be the centrepiece of the "Lace and Tapestry Garden" which was designed by Miss Kay Yamada and sponsored by Barakura English Garden.
Kay Yamada is a well known Japenese fashion, fabric and garden designer who sought to explore the relationship between fabric design and the inspiration provided by plants and flowers. Her design for Chelsea won the Silver Flora award.
